I am a member of our local Highland Games Committee.Last year we put on our
first annual Scotland County Highland Games. It was quite a success. We had our
first meeting of the new year last night. What caught my attention was when the
name Fife was mentioned.

The following I found to be quite insightful.Hopefully, you will too.

Fife,Scotland has a long history of association with the monarchy of
Scotland,so much so that Fifers strongly defend the right of the region to be
known as the Kingdom of Fife. The kingdom is home to Dunfermline, the ancient
capital of Scotland, the ancient Palace of Falkland,St. Andrews, the home of
golf, beautiful East Neuk of Fife, and the Howe of Fife.

If you are not interested in Scottish culture, the aforementioned might have
been boring and I beg your forgiveness.

Let me leave you with this thought:picture 'ol knot-kneed Barn in a kilt.I
don't think he would be from Mayberry,as a matter of fact,I think he's from
somewheres else!

***If any are interested in attending a Highland Games event, they are scattered
all over the USA.Drop me a line at my personal e-mail with the word SCOTS in
the subject section.
