This is one of my favorites. According to the "Mayberry Memories" book Jimmy's owner was Cy Hudgins. Just one letter off my maiden name, Hudgens. When Andy calls Cy "Hudg" I always think of my Dad saying he was called that a lot in the Army. He served in WW II.
