If only he had Opie's Pa

Recently I watched as the world's most famous golfer was being
interviewed after finishing in the top four in one of the most
prestigious Golf Tournaments in the world, the Masters. Without saying
too much, this individual had been off the tour for about five months
due to some personal issues of his own doing.

I thought that coming in cold like that, he would be pleased just to
finish as well as he did.

But do you know what he said.? It sounded very similar to Opie's little
fit about not winning a medal. He said I entered the tournament to win,
and since I didn't do that, I am not happy.

I was disappointed with the response, because I had really been a fan of
this golfer, but something rubbed me the wrong way about that answer.

Then, it occurred to me that it sounded an awful lot like the ranting of
a little boy who did not win the 50-year dash medal.

Hopefully since this golfer's paw is not around anymore, someone will
provide him some Andy Taylor like counseling.

Hopefully he has someone like Andy that he looks up to, that he will
want to make proud.
