One of my favorite modern shows is "American Pickers" on The History Channel.
For those who haven't seen it, it's a show about two antique dealers
who "travel the backroads of America" searching through barns and basements and
junkyards looking for interesting stuff.

In the newest episode, they are travelling in North Carolina, and one of the
items they find a Volkswagen license plate frame marked "Frank Myers
Motors, Anderson, SC." Not only was Frank Myers a character on The Andy
Griffith Show, but he was a bit of a packrat himself (even though his treasures
weren't worth a tiddly-boo).  Frank the character, and Mayberry's Myers Lake,
were named for the real-life crew member Frank Myers, but I doubt he was
connected to the car dealer.
