Back in the late 50s, Spring Byington starred in December Bride. One of the supporting characters was named Pete Porter (played by Harry Morgan) who had an unseen wife named Gladys.
In 1960, shortly after December Bride ended first run production, Pete and Gladys premiered with Harry Morgan and Gladys very much visible as portrayed by Cara Williams.
