I would just like to say I am sorry if I unintentionally offended anyone with my recent posting about Helen Crump. I certainly did not mean to imply that I was making fun of any person's name. I was simply doing a play on words of the fictitious Crump name. It is interesting that the name Anderson was referred to as I have a story to share about my name. When I was teaching third grade there was a second grade teacher just down the hall from me with the last name of Anders. He was about 30 years younger than I was at the time. Whenever we would meet each other in the hallway, he would say "Hi Son" and I would answer with "Hi Dad". One day the kids asked us how he could be my dad when he was so much younger than I was. So I asked them what his name was and they answered "Mr. Anders". Then I would say, "Well, who am I?" They of course would say, "You are Mr. Anderson." And I would follow with, "Yes, you see, I am Mr. Anders' son." It took a few of these for the kids to finally catch on and when they did, they they really laughed. Then after that when they would see Mr. Anders somewhere they would say to me, "Mr. Anderson, there goes your dad". This became a standing joke at school until I retired. Even some of the parents got in on it. So again, folks, I was just trying to have a little innocent fun with Miss Crump.
