Recently saw the episode with Barney purchasing the sidecar motorcycle at an
auction in Mt.Pilot.
Andy was somewhat overwhelmed that Barney had purchased a motorcycle for use as
a Mayberry
Sheriff's Department vehicle.
We are all aware that Barney makes a meager salary and is broke most of the
time between paychecks.
This poses a question.Where did Barney get the money to purchase the
motorcycle?Also,the money
to have the helmet and cycle emblazoned with official Mayberry Sheriff's
Department emblems.
Wouldn't Barney have to have gotten a voucher/cash advance/purchase order from
either Andy,
the Mayor,or city council?Therefore,Andy should not have been surprised.The
helmet Barney walked
into the courthouse with was black.Later in the episode it was white.Was that
an additional purchase
or a DIY paint job?Curious.Curious.
