Several years ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a "Mayberry
Reunion" type program in Branson, MO. There were several cast members there
such as, Ernest T., Goober, Charlene and the Darlin' boys, and yes, even "Ole
Barn". It is most definitely one of the highlights of my life. I got
autographs from everyone except the Darlin' boys. I was also able to get my
picture taken with several cast members which are some of my most prized
possessions. ( guess only folks on the digest would understand that.) I was
able to visit with "Charlene", "Goober", and even "Ernest T., and "Barney".
One of the pictures I have is of me with Barney. I can tell you for a fact that
his eyes were the "Baby Blue". I got my pictures out to make sure. So I hope
this will serve as an "Official Verification" of that and maybe you will even
receive this in the afternoon mail which will make even more official.
I also want to say "Thanks" to you for your all of your work in keeping
Mayberry alive! As times change, seemingly sometimes for the worst, it's good
to be able to go back to "Mayberry". My family and I watch TAGS everyday. We
also, as has been tradition since my kids were born, watch the "Christmas
Episode" every Christmas Eve which really has come to mean a lot to my family
through the years. I grew up in a small town much like Mayberry and I
appreciate that more and more all the time. I wish you and everyone on the
digest a "Happy and Prosperous New Year!!"
