I so agree with Lee's comments that the spirit of Mayberry is alive and
well and that we are all part of something special because of TAGS. Even
though I am a life-long fan, I continue to be amazed at the show's vast fan
base ("Big ain't the word for it."). I kinda feel sorry for all those
non-fans who have no idea that we TAGS people are "living in another
world"--a world of kindness and friendliness and decency. I've recently
been in Mt. Airy where I found myself under the "Mayberry spell"--the
townspeople were so friendly, the local police offered to help, the
merchants and hotelier were most accommodating. And I've had the great
opportunity to be with some of the fantastic "imposternators" at Mayberry
events and they could not be finer, more welcoming folks. Isn't this fun
and aren't we blessed? Thanks to the big man himself, Mr. Griffith, for
making all of this possible.
