When I was in high school (1960s) we could take biology in ninth grade; I
opted for general science as I couldn't stomach the idea of dissecting a
frog. As for underage guys joining the military, my father, an orphan at
the time, had to have his older sisters sign permission for him to join the
Marine Corps when he was 17; he served for 30 years and never regretted his
decision. I and my six siblings are proud Marine Corps brats and fixing to
celebrate the anniv this Saturday, November 10th - Semper Fi!!!
