Hey Brenda, Thelma Lou apparently socks or slaps Barney in the nose in the back of the squad car on the way home from the Chamber of Commerce dance in "A Date for Gomer." I agree, it seems out of character, but she was plenty mad that night. In the end, it all worked out because Mary Grace was "nice, reeeeeal, nice!"
