Ken wanted us to share some unknowed fax about us nobody knowed, so here goze.... 1. Borned in central VA, had red hair! 2. Got to second grade, spent 12 days, got sent to 3rd grade! 3. Had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever at age 9 and almost died from it. 4. Graduated at age 17 in '54, took post graduate for half day in '55. 5. Drove a dump truck for a week, hauling gravel for Dark Hollows Wayside on the Skyline Drive. 6. Joined the US Navy and spent 4 years in service to our country. 7. In 1960 watched the first episode of The Andy Griffith Show. 8. In 1963 worked for Burroughs Corp. and was transferred to North Carolina, found a copy of What It Was Was Football and still have it!! 9. Got married in August 1964. 10. Together we watched first episode of Gomer Pyle USMC and laughed so hard at it!! 11. Daughter born in '67. 12. Moving on, 1998 we saw David Browning at the opening of a Cracker Barrel just off I-40 east of Raleigh. He told us about Mayberry Days and we attended the first time that year, have not missed a year since! 13. Carol diagnosed with leukemia in 2004, months of extensive chemo. Now in remission 9+ years! 14. Now have neuropathy in both feet, hard to walk a lot, next year may be our last Days, and Aug. 29 will be our 50th anniversary!! It has been fun, met so many nice people, stars and fans, and will hold those memories precious. As Bob Hope says, Thanks For the Memories!! That's my story....our story. What can I say?
