We have an annual family reunion that is from my mother's maiden
name,McInnis.We have
folks come from several states, even had a family two years ago come from
Norway.People
will often bring folks with them that are no kin at all, such as
friends,neighbors.We have a
generic name for them.We call them shirt-tail cousins.Do not know the origin of
the phrase.

As friendly as Mayberrians are,I reckon most of them would be shirt-tail
cousins.Has anyone
ever heard this term before?
