Paul, You have brought up some very good points. I, too, cannot imagine the good folks of Mayberry wouldn't honor their pledges or at least pitch in and build Mr. Robinson his barn. I can't believe Clara Edwards would throw herself at Mr. Robinson just to get the church an organ. There are some color episodes that just aren't up to par.
