I just listened to a podcast about a guy being offered a police escort from one event to another that was about 25 miles away. The policeman was a fan and all excited about doing this for the author. They all get in their cars, the blue lights come on and they take off... except the policeman only escorted him a couple hundred yards to city limits, then pulled over and they had to go the other 24.5 miles on their own. At least Barney escorted Melissa the entire distance!
