All this talk about cooking possums brought to mind an old recipe for carp. If where you come from you figure you're doing folks a favor when you kill a carp, you may want to try it.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut a piece of 2x4 lumber to the same length as your carp. Season carp with lots of butter and salt and pepper (or maybe oregano) then put it on the piece of wood and bake it for an hour and a half. Take it out of the oven, throw the carp away, and eat the 2x4.
