After seeing today's episode about the descendant of Nathan Tibbs and hearing
Barney claim relation to Duncan Phyfe saying "sooner or later someone had to
spell it right" I decided to look up Duncan.

Wikipedia had this:

Born Duncan Fife near Loch Fannich, Scotland, he emigrated with his family to
Albany, New York in 1784 and served as a cabinetmaker’s apprentice.

By the time of his marriage in 1793, he appears in the New York directories as
a "joiner," but by 1794 he called himself "cabinetmaker" and had changed the
spelling of his name to Phyfe.

So maybe Barney was related to Duncan after all.

Also, I love how in this episode Barney is so sure he is the descendant of
Nathan yet when the real descendant (Otis) is named barney stands behind him
100%. Just one of many reasons to love ol' Barn.
