Don't it just clench you right in the heart to see Barney disparaging Rafe Hollister's singing in the first quarter of the show, only to support him once the mayor decided Rafe was not to represent Mayberry in the musicale? Barney could have been portrayed as a poor sport throughout but he wasn't and that's why we love him. Good old Barney, bless his heart, he can't sing. He just can't sing. But he isn't too much of a sore loser.
