On one episode of Gunsmoke, Denver Pyle was the bad guy...not just a bad guy but a REAL BAD guy....walked up on the man's porch and when the man opened the door, Denver shot him in the chest! Not like our Brisco!!
Then another episode, James Best was in jail for killing someone, his father was Colonel so and so....and James kept begging his daddy to get him out of jail, but the colonel didn't want to. James was set to hang, the scaffolding was built. then the Sheriff came in and told him his daddy had it all set up, had paid him a big amount to fake the hanging. The rope would let him down onto some barrels where he could grab the rope, take it off his neck, and the undertaker would declare him dead, haul him off in a coffin. When they got to the cemetery there would be a horse waiting for him, and then the sheriff stuck $1000 in his pocket his daddy said to give him so he could get to Mexico and not come back. The hanging took place. The sheriff went behind the scaffold. The coffin was loaded onto a wagon and started off to the cemetery. The sheriff walked up to Colonel and said....surprise ending..."Here's your thousand bucks back."
