Well, our car show and parade season is well underway here in Wisconsin. It got off to a rather rainy start with four events being cancelled in one week. But this weekend we did one car show and two parades.
Everytime I start to think of maybe cutting back on the parades something happens to change my mind. Today I was doing a parade in a small town and the parade is a very large one that attracts a lot of very enthusiastic people. As I was walking along interacting with the kids and handing out some citations, a little boy of about four years old came up to me and shook my hand and said, "When I grow up I want to be just like you." That one touched me. Here is the link to my June column if you are interested. It is entitled "Fishing Mayhem in Mayberry" . https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/179900_90ce43fe837d495d999654d52c738968.pdf I have two major presentations to do in the next few weeks. I have been asked to speak on the history of my small hometown village at the annual Dorchester Days Celebration. So I have put together a powerpoint presentation for that and then I have been asked to do a program "Remembering 1964" for my 55th high school class reunion. So I am working on that.
