For Aunt Bee and all others not used to 'southernisms', listen to Jeff
Foxworthy's explanation of the way we say things. They may not be exactly
what Andy says, but it is a lesson in southern speech. There is a town near
where I live called Armuchee. Now you would think it is pronounced
R-moo-chee. No, it is R mur-chee. If your not from around here, you ask
where the extra 'r' cam from. It's the local way of talking.
My Mother is from Lenoir, NC and boy do they have ways of pronouncing words
all their own. I would imagine Andy and Don both threw in their native
ways. Just like we do in Ga. Elizabeth
