I received an interesting email this morning from a friend. He directed
several of our community theatre plays and lives in a larger city about an hour
away. He said he is on the selection committee for the city's film festival,
and "The Mayberry Effect" was one of the films he is reviewing for it. He said
that he enjoyed the film and that it will likely be included in the festival.
The reason he emailed me is that he recognized me in a scene from the film.
Apparently, the camera caught me being photographed with one of the tribute
artists (he didn't say which one). Early on, Chris Hudson, the filmmaker,
tried to get the word out about his film, but I haven't heard anybody talk
about it for a long time. I've been to the website again, but it doesn't seem
to have any information about how someone can access the film. It would seem
that it's only being screened at film festivals across the country. I'm sure
some here on the digest (especially tribute artists) have had dealings with
Chris and know more about the film in its finished form and how fans can see
it. Anyone have information to share? I'd like to know if it will be released
on DVD.
