While watching "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs" this morning, I noticed that after the "giraffes are selfish" scene, wgen they return from retrieving the dogs, Barney doesn't have his badge on, and it's missing for the remainder of the episode, until the epilogue, when it's back on. He's wearing it during the giraffes scene. You can also clearly see the outline of a pack of cigarettes in his pocket.
