In replying to Ken's question about the hankie being used in the show here is an interesting story. I heard this from Debbie Miles, former owner of Mayberry On Main in Mount Airy. She said Emmett Forest received the black jacket that Barney wore in the show, when he was riding the white horse east to west, to be put in the Andy Griffith Museum. He brought it by the store to show it to the Darrell and Debbie Miles. It was a small jacket and Debbie ask if she could try it on. Emmett said sure. Debbie put the jacket on and reached into the pocket. To her surprise she pulled out a tissue that was in the pocket.
