I watched the Gunsmoke Season 11 episode "Malachi" this morning. In this episode, Malachi the town drunk receives a letter from his brother Ethan, stating that he will be stopping by for a brief visit when his stage passes through. This sends Malachi into a bit of a tizzy. It seems Malachi has told his brother that HE is the marshal of Dodge City. Since it's only for a couple hours, and since Matt's out of town, Festus and Doc help him get all cleaned up and attempt to pass him off as the marshal, allowing Malachi to save face after boasting so to his brother Ralph. I mean Ethan--portrayed by Edward Andrews from Aunt Bee and the Lecturer. Bet you all will never guess who else turns out to have a nasty relationship with the bottle!
