Just curious to know how people create their primary keys when using MySQL?
I've been using a date/time/random number combination generator that has worked well so far, however, having used sequences in Oracle - I don't mind these either. Has anyone used auto_increment in mySQL? how reliable is it? Are there any OTHER ways of generating a unique ID for a primary key field that I should take under consideration?
