I'll be eavesdropping. The organization I work for sells conservation products and would like to do it online. We have a shopping cart included in our server package but I believe we need to open up some sort of merchant account with a credit card company or PayPal. Does anyone have any opinions as to which is the best bet to start with? I'm so sleazy I'd like to have my boss open up a personal (read: free) PP account for this purpose. I wrote to PP and they have no provision for non-profits. This organization is one of the poorest I've seen so even $20 a month could be a problem if no one buys anything. My boss's name is all over the site so she's clearly allied with the organization but I'm wondering if customers would think this arrangement fishy. I don't think PP would notice, frankly.
Next after that is trying to figure out how to use the shopping cart. It's always something... and, as Joseph pointed out, if you take long rest periods between web design sessions you lose some of your learning.
