Matt, this is what standards are all about. Design the site using the full
power of css. Make it fluid so resolution isn't an issue (except for
extreme widths).

Wrap the whole thing in a div with a small left and right margin to center
it whatever the screen resolution. Use percentages for widths, including
images where practical. Set text in em. Let the end user determine what
works for them.

Go with the basic 800x600 in your design since that's what most people
use. But leave it fluid so it can accommodate other views.
