The two are quite different.  <nobr> does not stop text wrapping, just stops
the enclosed piece of text from breaking - the text will still wrap, but the
line will break before or after, but no inside, the enclosed text.  So
<nobr> is good for enclosing something like a brand name or even a date:

blah blah blah <nobr>12-Dec-2003</nobr> blah

...would stop line wrapping inside the date

If you know of a browser (with more than a 1% market share) that doesn't
honor <nobr> please tell me as I rely on it quite a bit whenever necessary.
