i suspect you want the 1 to refer to the first column

you can do this only in the ORDER BY clause

in the WHERE, each item is interpreted as a literal or column

you have two literals there, a numeric 1 and a string "orange"

there's no way in hell that 1 will ever equal "orange"

what are the two column names in your table?
