Since I'm not techie material by any stretch of the imagination and things like .htacess confuse the heck out of me - I do have one suggestion for you: http://www.html-password.net/ it's only $30 to buy. I have the trial version and it's pretty cool, but I let it lapse before I had a real chance to play with it and learn it well. I do think I will buy it since it sure seems to make life easy for this kind of thing and the price is not bad and includes lifetime free upgrades if I recall correctly.
