Hi there,

I currently have an external hard drive I use for backups. It's on the small side so today I bought a larger one. I have sold my current one and want to reformat it before turning it over to the new parents. There is no software that came with it, I plugged it into the firewire port and XP found and installed the drivers. Question is, if go to MY COMPUTER and right click that G drive (external) and choose FORMAT will that be all I need to do to make this external clean and ready for the new owners? Or is there something else I need to know or do to accomplish this properly? Should one defrag after a reformat of such a drive? Thanks!

Deb
