I took a second, still brief look at the www.kearys.ie site.

Still like the home page layout.

But the Flash central animation has a few problems.

FLASH PROBLEMS:

1. The Kearys of Cork, Kearys of Midleton, and Kearys Mallow (not "of
Mallow"?) all look the same. This may be intentional, but comically looks
like one location trying to pose as three. Forgive my irreverence. I'm
awful.

2. It doesn't do anything. Flash animation can be used to show different
angles of something, or show something in motion, or solving a problem, or
how to assemble it, or how to use it correctly, or as interaction (ala
Subservient Chicken). This is not doing anything that a series of still
photos could not do just as well.

3. I agree with others who have suggested featuring an "Off" button to stop
the darned thing. It's main effect is to distract and render an otherwise
highly usable homepage somewhat less usable.

4. The "Loading...please wait" can be better rendered by a clock or other
time-elapse device that shows users how much time is remaining until the
Flash is fully downloaded. I have a dial up connection, but it is very fast
downloading, so the download time is not a problem for me.

OTHER CONCERNS:

When I clicked on "Garages" I chose some location, I think Cork [really
don't recall, it's not important anyway] and was taken to a frameset of
tables presenting different automobiles with data and prices.

I hate frames in most cases. They cause URL reference/bookmarking problems,
screen capture problems, and print out problems.

Oh wait...there is a Printer Friendly Stocklist available. I clicked on it
and waited. And waited. And waited. After 2 or 3 minutes, with my download
progress Windows widget indicating no progress, I bailed out.

Will return and evaluate more on this site later.

I like the site, thus I'm curious about how it might be improved.
