I disagree, unless you are running a bunch of graphics apps 512 ram is adequate on XP and more than 98 can use effectively.
My Son's XP Pro machine has 368 and he runs games on it. His machine is a member of our domain (a hand me down and back-up in case one of the others is out of service}. Gaming has much more ram requirements than office Machines. Depending on the speed of the Celeron it may or may not be worth upgrading to XP or 2000. Cheryl D.
