Peter,

I have a lot of sympathy with that view. I always note the different experiences people have. Before my disaster Firefox was playing up and I haven't re-installed because I don't have time to see what the problem is for me.

Now Opera seems unable to find its way to the local server.

I was going to move from OE to Bloomba for mail, but just as I was near to doing so it got bought up by...

I can now access nearly all my mail accounts on the web; when I finally move all my subs out of this (may main account) onto my ISP's newer addresses it will be just about all. Though I might move it all to Gmail, anyway. Though I then don't have access off-line!

My most spammed address goes through mailwasher. But phishing is another story.

Personally I don't use Outlook or Outlook Express
to access the net. I use Outlook for the Contacts
File and Tasks List but that's all.

Anything that comes from Seattle doesn't get to
access the net as far as I am concerned, apart from for Windows Updates.

I am having a row with my bank at the moment as
they insist Internet explorer for Internet
Banking so I have to use it for that. But that's
all. Otherwise IE is never woken upon my machine
- not even a desk-top shortcut exists!

I use Firefox and Eudora normally. Number of
times Zone Alarm/AVG catches something with those
is about 10% of what I used to see with MS Products.

I have been sending phishing mails to PayPal and among the advice received is

Download the SafetyBar, a toolbar for Outlook and Outlook Express,
which identifies known spoof emails.

What are your opinions on this?
