You are right but he is the boss and probably doesn't have a real clue about how many people are not going to see his emails as he expects. Though what is really funny is that newsletters that are in html almost always look worse on my Mac than they do on my pc. Granted I have Entourage and Outlook set to plain text but Apple message degrade in a way that makes them unreadable in Entourage some sort of hybrid result with a dark blue background.
I suspect your boss is one of those who doesn't quite get the variety of equipment and the way people work so it maybe a case of making it look good on his system and then letting complaints roll in.
