so going forward, I'd like to keep all my accoutns on line.
Now clearly I can use Excel, or google docs etc.. but does anyone use
a program that's more specificaly tailored to our kind of book
keeping?

Any advise, suggestions on the whole process are welcome, and I'd liek
to get started as soon as possible!

I am a bookkeeping dummy - I'm absolutely terrible at it and was totally confused by every program I tried which were MANY over the past few years. I finally found: http://www.k-billing.com/ for invoicing and it has been a great help to me! I invoice my clients in it, take payments in it and at the end of the year for my accountant I print out the necessary reports from it. I also add my figures into Quicken along w/my expenses and my accountant gets printed reports from Quicken and K-Billing to do my taxes. Mitch at K-Billing is WONDERFUL for support and they do have forum boards as well.
