Hi Joseph,
PHPBB would do it (although there's been a few issues over the
years
with security).
Failing that, why not look into setting up an email list such as
this
one and not archiving it. Yahoo-groups will provide you with a
secure
mailing list for free and you can specify that you want it to be
private.
HTH,
M.
Quoting joseph harris <smilep...@vfemail.net>:
I am preparing all the stuff below [not quite ready] and plan
to add a
little later a discussion list/forum for purchasers of the
book. This
needs to be cast iron controllable and accessible only by
ID/password.
Since I expect it to cover 'sensitive' matters I don't want it
spidered
either.
If I am going to run it the whole thing needs to be simple too.
Any
suggestions for a script [inevitably cost free]?
Many thanks
Joseph Harris -
Thanks Matt. I'd forgotten about BB, though I looked at it ages
ago when I understood less than at my peak ;-). Yahoo is a good
reserve, but I don't want to trust a server outside my site.
Can't put the price into https at the moment, though that might
be the best protection. I'll put BB on localhost and see if I
understand it this time ;-).
Joseph
