Silk socks a bit over the top, what :-).......what about a nice summery top
woven say in a open weave like your huck. 
In another message you say this thicker than what you usually weave
with.....then it's time you acquired the hinge method that I use :-)
One of your threads is this thicker silk and then you have another the size
of your finest warp thread.....you throw one of the silk and upto 5 of the
finer. I usually do 2 so that the silk is not always falling in the same
shot each time....tho' it does give an interesting slant of the finished
fabric. 
Or you could use the silk as the pattern thread in an overshot....it would
be more enhanced on finishing your fabric.
Give it a whirl, you may find yourself with a very interesting, intriquing
new fabric length.....and with the variation in colourway and even more
interesting design.....you might find yourself with blobs or more even
randomy colourway.
