Karen talked about the happy ending to her weaving woes -- 

glad it worked for you -- I had just the opposite experience:

I had tied a warp onto an old warp to make a couple of (pendleton 
worm) rugs. Because the warp was a different yarn, and I was 
worried about the sett being too close (and I thought I had plenty of 
extra) I did a sample, which turned out fine.

First rug went fine, wove to 82" Started on the second one, got 
about 1/2 through it, and saw those knots creeping over the warp 
beam....I did everything I could to stretch things out, but it's only 
60" long. And of course, I have no more of one of the colors of 
worms....

This is a commission for a very picky person, and the rugs are for 
a very specific purpose (either side of his massage table) so the 
length is quite critical. I am feeling quite frustrated by it all...
