I wonder why but a lot of people face the problem you had. Including myself
when I set up web-cyradm for the first time.

I think the problem is that there are a lot of howtows, but most often the
one you would need isn't there. Meaning certain information that is of
general interest might be in the SuSE Linux HOWTO which you will probably
not read if you run RedHat.

Also most of the HOWTOs are "how to set up a whole mail system with this and
that and cyrus" and web-cyradm comes only as the very last such as "know
that we have a working mail server, how about a web frontend".

I once started some specific web-cyram howto. I think I had posted it.
Search the archives. I need to say I that feedback from the community was
not very encouraging. The subject of my posting was something like "how
about some documenation". It was meant with a smile, but not everyone
understood it. Ok, I should have used a smily ;-))

I would be against an off-site forum; i think anything that belongs to
web-cyradm should be kept together. So dicussions belong on the mailing list
(which has a searchable archive @ www.mail-archive.com now, archiving mails
since earlier this month) and docu (inlcuding a potential FAQ,
troubleshooting guide or setup howto) belong on the site.

I understand Luc runs a CMS. So it should not be too much of a problem if he
would allow some selected people (such as you) to update specific documents
on the site (such as a troubleshooting guide or a FAQ).

This will make sure that the info is actually found by people who need it.
Of course if will need to be maintained.

Regards,
Torsten
