Hi fellow web-cyradm users, Just set up an FC3 IMAP box as per Lucs instructions, with FC3 additions by morpheus ( https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-December/msg06361.html ).
When adding a new account in web-cyradm (unixhierarchysep disabeled), the mailbox was created here: /var/spool/imap/user/xxx0001 The directory contained the initial cyrus.cache, cyrus.header and cyrus.index files. When logging into the imap account from a IMAP client, the INBOX folder for user xxx0001 was not accessible (System I/O error). However, I was able to create subfolders and access them. The folders created in the IMAP client were created here: /var/spool/imap/x/user/xxx0001/Folder1 /var/spool/imap/x/user/xxx0001/Folder2 Each new directory contained the initial cyrus.cache, cyrus.header and cyrus.index files. Moving the cyrus.cache, cyrus.header and cyrus.index files from /var/spool/imap/user/xxx0001 to /var/spool/imap/x/user/xxx0001 fixed the problem of accessing the inbox. When enabeling unixhierarchysep, the initial account mailbox location was correct, namely: /var/spool/imap/u/user/username^domainname/ So in short: Why was the "x" (first letter in username) not added to the path of the users inbox when unixhierarchysep was disabeled? Or perhaps: Why was the "x" added to the path of the users inbox by deliver when unixhierarchysep was disabeled?
