Are you usinf cyrus-imapd? Then a copy from /var/spool/imap is not enough!
cyrus holds a database with the mails in it, and if he will have a new mail,
he looks in this db not in /var/spool/imap because it is NOT maildir like!

The accounts from web-cyradm you can import to the new db, and there are all
your accounts back!

But the mails, i have no idea! Sorry.

Greets,

Marcel Hartmann
