Hi. I know the solution with domain as prefix, but I see it as a design flaw, in web-cyradm.
From: http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/imapd/install-virtdomains.html: "Fully qualified userid - the client logs in with a userid containing the domain in which the user belongs (e.g., [email protected] or test%example.net) Then the mailboxes should be callled [email protected] and the virtual_maps shoud contain [email protected] in all fields, except status. the Accountuser table should contain [email protected] as username. Then the salsauthd should be started with -r -a pam as flags, so that the host part of the username does not get interpreted as a realm. This setup does work for me on Freebsd 7.2. However I do not have much use of web-cyradm as it is. I think the above solution is better because the users have their email-addresses as username, and in webmail clients for instance horde/imp the default from address is the correct emailaddress. I'm considering to "fork" web-cyradm, and write a perl version, since perl is what I know best, but I would like to hear the opinion of this list... Is their a need for a new web-cyradm effort, or does people like the domainasprefix solution? 2009/9/1 Richard Pijnenburg <[email protected]> > > Hi Jens, > You'll need to change it at 2 points. > 1. config file of imapd.conf > 2. config file of the web-cyradm front-end. > Then you can use usernames like test.domain1.tld. > I'm not sure if and how it can work with [email protected] usernames. > RegardingĀ the development.. i'm note sure but i think it's stalledĀ indeed. > Regards, > Richard > > On Tue, Sep 1, 2009 at 9:18 PM, Jens Hansen <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Hi all. >> >> Can anyone tell me, why web-cyradm does not take advantage of the cyrus imap >> virtual domain capabilty. >> Doing so requires only to give the -r flag to saslauthd, and to use >> usernames such as [email protected]. >> Another matter is if web-cyradm development has totatally stalled? >> >> Regards >> Jens >> _______________________________________________ >> This mailing list is hosted and supported >> by bit-heads GmbH | http://www.bit-heads.ch >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Web-cyradm mailing list >> [email protected] >> http://www.web-cyradm.org/mailman/listinfo/web-cyradm >> > > > _______________________________________________ > This mailing list is hosted and supported > by bit-heads GmbH | http://www.bit-heads.ch > > _______________________________________________ > Web-cyradm mailing list > [email protected] > http://www.web-cyradm.org/mailman/listinfo/web-cyradm > _______________________________________________ This mailing list is hosted and supported by bit-heads GmbH | http://www.bit-heads.ch _______________________________________________ Web-cyradm mailing list [email protected] http://www.web-cyradm.org/mailman/listinfo/web-cyradm
