I am running Python-2.5.4 & tried installing the PyWin32 extensions
(v212) to see if that was the issue.

I would agree that having this usable from the binary release of
Web2Py would be useful.
I'd be fine with making this a separate download (& even a recipe on
how to build such a binary from the source)
