Create an account, e.g. Login Options: Protocol: IRC username: jeffs (or something you will use on IRC) In the Advanced tab, you _can_ set things like Username and Realname, proxy, etc... but defaults should work. Enable the account, then, from the Buddies menu: Buddies > Join a chat and #web2py for the channel For PyCon and other python rooms, people just sit in them all day, so they can participate when a discussion they know something about starts up...
