I think that we could build a community coded app which hosts the most of the features needed for this type of event. Such as: - a video stream db for video submissions - a material selection and system for a web2py jury - sort of a scheduling system for presenting and showing each event section asincronously (without user intervention) in the web interface. - email and/or twitter system for broadcasting next events - embeded IRC/chat interface? - an event archive with comments/chat/streams/etc. - mobile support? - support for markmin docs An app like that (I don't think there is something OS coded with Python yet with that features) would give an idea of the power of web2py for newcomers. We have already an OS conference app mainly mantained by Mariano Reingart (plus the original app project) that maybe we could use as a base for enhancements. --
