Maybe in apache2, on default config you have this line: AliasMatch ^/([^/]+)/static/(.*) /var/www/web2py/applications/$1/static/$2
Change it to: AliasMatch ^/([^/]+)/static/(?:_[\d]+.[\d]+.[\d]+/)?(.*) /var/www/web2py/applications/$1/static/$2 At least that solved my problem. This makes apache ignore statics with versioning.
