@Niphlod: LOL. That's the same conclusion I came to in about 5 minutes. I rejiggered things and am sticking with subprocess module. Unfortunately, the damage was already done to my web2py setup. The silver lining to all this is I think I figured out how to get to python 2.7.x, so not all was a waste.
