Hello, I'm creating my first Web App with Web2py and I am amazed of all its capacities!!
I am thinking of deploying my app in GAE but I only realize now that it doesn't allow JOIN on table queries. I wanted to use GAE because of scalability and not having to configure and maintain a server for my app, but now having to re-write all the queries and update the views makes me think twice. My question is, what performance lost would it be to have 4 to 5 queries to the db instead of one big query with Join? I know that with GAE there is no choice, but I don't want to be stuck with GAE and maybe in the future we will have our own Virtual Server. In that case I wouldn't want to have to write back all my queries and update all my views. Thanks for any help in this subject. I am still trying to find out what is the best deployment platform for my project.
